Unprecedented Support for the Lebanese Contemporary Creation
 

The BYBLOS BANK AWARD supports the young Lebanese creative photographers of less than 45 years and who are still little known to the general public; it helps them promote and give more value to their works.

This Award aims to recognize excellence and innovation in a photographer's work. It helps to promote 
the discovery of new talents in Lebanon.

The BYBLOS BANK AWARD strives to defend the Lebanese artistic creation of tomorrow.
 

The BYBLOS BANK AWARD is committed to helping the next generation of photographers in a sustainable way. Thus, a carefully selectedwinner will be announced each year and will be promoted to a wider audience.

 

The Winner of BYBLOS BANK AWARD 2013 Will Win:
 

An exhibition organized on the premises of BYBLOS BANK.
The publication of an exhibition catalog. 


Conditions for Participation:

Artists between18 and 45 years old
Lebanese nationality


Participation in the competition is free and open to all residents of Lebanon excluding the staff of the organizing parties

BEIRUT ART FAIR TALKS


All the events are complemented by a program of round tables and conferences on themes such as photojournalism and its fate, with the “Generation War” exhibit as a backdrop, and the exposure of South-East Asian artists on the international scene.

LIFE GOES ON DESPITE THE CIRCUMSTANCES!


 The exhibition comprises of a collection of photos captured in the 1980s, in wartime Lebanon. At the time, these 6 photographers were around 20 years old. 

They immortalized every day moments and their photos have been published worldwide in the international press: Paris Match, The New York Times, The Newsweek, International Herald Tribune, Al Jazeera International, Agence VU, AFP, Reuters…

BLC DESIGN PLATFORM

 

This year, the fair continues to expand its sphere of activity by encompassing contemporary design. The guest of this « discovery » space will be the art critic Jérôme Sans, who shall select 10 artists representing the new generation of Lebanese designers. 


This design hub invites art collectors, lovers and professionals to discover the ambitions of an ever-changing young artistic scene.

BLC DESIGN PLATFORM is a competition initiated by BLC Bank, which supports the young Lebanese designers still little known in the art stage, promote their work and develop their value.


Goals:

This contest aims to recognize talent designers’ works in order to support the young Lebanese creation. BLC DESIGN PLATFORM is committed to develop the next generation of designers in a sustainable way, giving them a great opportunity to reach a larger public. Therefore, 10 candidates amongst the received files will be carefully selected by Jérôme Sans, well known art critic and curator, and will be exhibiting their artworks to a wide audience.

Procedure:

• Application forms will be apprehended until June 30, 2013

• Jury Jérôme Sans, renowned art critic and curator and currently director of the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, will choose 10 of the best applicants to be exhibited at the BLC DESIGN PLATFORM.

• The 10 winners will be exhibited during the world-famous event: BEIRUT ART FAIR 2013, which will be held from September 19 to September 22.


Conditions of participation:

• Lebanese nationality

• Participation is free and open to all Lebanese residents excluding the staff of the organizing parties (BLC BANK and BEIRUT ART FAIR)
